Zibby Retreats: Solvang Wrap Up

The Solvang Zibby Retreat was just…magical. The women who showed up were smart, warm, funny, gracious, and just all-around wonderful which made getting to know them—and each other—a joy. The authors got along so well. Cin Fabre had us all laughing all weekend while Eirinie Carson had us in tears Sunday morning (Larissa’s birthday) and every emotion in between. We learning writing tactics from Darcey Gohring, yoga from Sarah Ezrin, and SO MUCH from every single author.
Graça Tito did a phenomenal job arranging everything. The best part was simply being able to sit, to chat, to connect, to bond, to discuss books––but really to discuss life. Grief. Love. Suicide, even. There was a safe space for the toughest topics and an open bar for the fun afterwards. It was, quite simply, restorative and invigorating on the most human level.
